I'm getting married in the morning Ding Dong the Bells are going to Chime.......(Inspiration)

My ideas and inspiration were mostly gathered through blogs and pinterest. The endless images I found made my mind go crazy with ideas!!!

COLOUR scheme ideas......I knew I wanted something different to what both my sisters and friends had chosen previously and saw a Coral coloured dress being made at university one day, and that was it, my colour scheme was chosen. I wanted a range of colours like a colour chart of corals, burgundies, rose, cream and even browns.

This mixture of colours made a rainbow of complimentary shades.I thought I'd have different colour bridesmaid dresses all in the same style, or even the same coloured dresses but in different styles, making the bridesmaids have their own look for the day.

The subtlety of these colours is amazing I love the pastel theme, it makes for a delicate summery look. The wedding is in April and my aim is to make it look as spring/summer as possible as I believe this contrast against the rustic backdrop will look amazing.

The more I searched for complimenting dresses in this beautiful theme, the more I struggled; looking for coral dresses round Christmas was always going to be a challenge but finding multiple dresses was even harder! I was dressing 5 bridesmaids in total and settled with them all wearing the same. When I found the dress both the girls and I liked I bought them as soon as possible!!

These were my findings when looking for dresses, complimenting each other in colour, but very different in style. When I'd decided to get the same dress for all my beautiful bridesmaids I really wanted the maxi dress one in the middle, I think its absolutely gorgeous!!! I did however have to please all 5 bridesmaids and adhere to all their needs. My sister had just had a baby a few months before, giving me a beautiful nephew, so she needed an easy-to-breast-feed dress, and this style would not be easy. The girls also preferred shorter dresses, which I believe fit in with my relaxed summery theme better. So the search continued.............

The Flowers were to match this colour theme, or to contrast it in a complimentary way.I had so many ideas for delicate floral arrangements in the rustic theme, and so many ideas for arrangements in the colour schemes. I'm no expert with flowers but have a look at this beautiful array of flowers and you'll get what I was aiming for..............

I love the mix of big blooming flowers and the fine wild flowers used in the table displays. I was torn between the two and being an amateur in this department I spoke to our florist and let her experience speak for itself, she had many ideas, my prime requirement was colour scheme, after that she had creative licence with her displays and bouquets. I didn't see her work until the day itself, the wait was on......................................

The flowers for the table have to then compliment the table displays, the table names/numbers, place names and decor. I came up with numerous ideas again for the table lay out. There were so many inspirational images echoing the delicate rustic/vintage theme, using wood, flowers, glass, luggage tags, ribbon and Hessian from all my internet findings. My university projects often encompassed a rustic vintage theme using luggage tags and distressed materials, so this was no different to my typical style of creativity and was almost natural to me. these images gave me alot to consider.............

Table names and centre pieces..........

Street names. I love this idea, Dan and I have lived at many addresses due to his constant need to get a bigger place, but I am no different as throughout my university years I moved house every year, we would certainly have enough names for all 11 tables.

Simple numbers, lace doily's and antique miniature vases are a really delicate idea, along side the rustic wooden stand.

More number ideas for the table names. I love the delicate jars and bottles with simplistic flowers and a tall clear vintage sign.

Using the luggage tag (table 3) is in keeping with the vintage 'crafty' theme. I love the chopped wood stand that the vases are displayed on as well, the effect of the contrasting materials is just what I'm aiming for.
The door knob idea is a quirky rustic theme, using old materials is also a cheap way to achieve this and yet really effective.

The wooden strip here makes a nice idea for a table name and its simple too.

We decided that we would have a BBQ for our wedding breakfast,I mean you couldn't get a more relaxed and laid back menu if you tried. A BBQ just sets the tone for the day and matched the DIY rustic theme we had started, plus it was so US!! Alongside this eat feast we wanted to supply our own desserts a sort of bring and share table of goodies......I saw this idea in a fair few of my findings, with a cute little note from the newly weds.

Table plan................For this I knew I wanted something quirky and different. I loved this idea of displaying the names on an old window!!! I struggled to find an old window or mirror that wasn't horrendously expensive though, so only advise this if you already have one or have a large budget.

Crafty ideas........... Order of Service, how amazing is the individual confetti idea on the back, I have to say though this is another budget issue as the church we chose, only allows biodegradable confetti, and that comes with a price tag when you are supplying 100+ order of service!

Decorative extras..............Little floral displays hanging on the back of chairs and lanterns with flowers or candles in. I had a huge blank canvas of a room and outdoor picnic area to decorate and the little touches, I believe are what matter the most.

I love this little cutlery and salt and pepper pack, it just fits the BBQ/picnic theme.

Avon Croft Museum's hall where our reception would be held, has vast walls of bare brick, I loved this rustic backdrop but felt it needed something to break it up. They asked that we only use the existing nails in the walls which were high up and there weren't many. I believe these ideas, hanging frames on lengths of ribbon would work best, and they look good too.

One thing I really wanted to include was details for the guests to look at and do so there is never a dull moment. I loved this idea of the HE/SHE frames, listing details about the other that you love eg. HE is my rock. HE has put up with me for over 6 years. HE is my childhood sweetheart........HE is my husband!!!!! A really sweet, verging on cheesy detail, but one people can read if they notice them.
I wanted my centre piece flowers to be displayed in a mix match of jugs jars pots and old milk jugs. I thought this or a mixture of different sized jars all individually decorated would work really well.

Another idea to hold photos cards or messages was through pinning them onto ribbon or string with decorated pegs.

I loved the peg idea, there were so many different uses for them and so many ways to decorate them........................

Quirky ideas for wedding related decor for the pegs...........

I soon thought after seeing different ways to package wedding favours of a way I could use the pegs.................

I found this lovely DIY favour bag just using sandwich bags and thought this would be the quickest most efficient way to wrap our favours. I thought if I decorated them with lace doilies and rustic pegs it would tie in all the inspirational ideas I found.

On the topic of creativity, the invites were looming, I came up with multiple ideas on how to house all the information for my guests and how to present the theme. For this I had to finalise all my themes and colour schemes, after all I really think the invite is what prepares the guests for what to expect on the day; relaxed atmosphere, DIY theme, coral/burgundy colour scheme, vintage/rustic feeling, quirky extras............all in the invite.

I decided to do the invites in postcard form. with information cards attached or wrapped up in some way..............

Lace, Lace, Lace............I love the idea of wrapping the invite in this way...................orrrr the rustic ever so vintage string and little luggage tag. Gorgeous ideas. I love the old patterned paper, the material wrapped book......with more budget I would definitely have made book invites!!

More lace and voile fabrics decorating the invites or order of service, its so romantic, a mix of this and the string tied postcards and you're on the money!
The old fashioned wax sealed envelope is also so fitting with the theme, its another romantic idea and makes me think of love letters from the past, a bit of history that also compliments the setting for our reception.
Bunting, not only decorating the stationary but the room itself, its a must have at weddings in my opinion, and is a tradition amongst the weddings of my family and friends!!

The inspiration I had for the wedding was amazing I had so many ideas, I only wish I could plan another wedding to use all of them!!!
