My first port of call was trawling through blogs and inspirational images for a D.I.Y wedding. First was the colour scheme, theme, and the feel I want for the wedding hmmm........
We both love the beach, and I love rustic vintage, both of our families and friends mean alot to us.....so we needed somewhere that we could accommodate as many of our loved ones as possible, somewhere that we feel at home and somewhere that fits the image and can help us to create the right atmosphere for our day.
St. Lawrence Church Alvechurch, a home from home for me and surrounded by those who knew me growing up. Also quite traditional getting married where the bride grew up so why not?! Then venue.....somewhere we both know and that suits the people we are- Avoncroft Museum Bromsgrove. Where better to set a costume designer's wedding then amongst the history, full of creative and beautiful settings, and already embodies the rustic vintage look I love.
THE most beautiful church in my opinion. It makes for amazing photos and is so rustic and old, perfect for the theme of the wedding.
Avon Croft Museum is a museum of old buildings, supplying ample backdrops for some amazing photographs. The museum houses old black and white houses, barns, windmills, telephone and police boxes (for the avid Dr Who fans) and even the old long drop toilets!!!
The venue is a modern built barn made from old materials, including the roof from Worcestershire cathedral which is stunning!!
